About EcoShift
A MyHerb DevSphere tool for understanding everyday environmental choices.
Start with the activity
A number is useful when you can check where it came from. EcoShift pairs the quantities you enter with published conversion factors, shows the units, and explains what the estimate leaves out.
Energy and transport use UK government reference factors. Food estimates use global research means. These methods have different boundaries, so their totals are shown separately. They describe the activities entered, not your complete footprint.

Save reports on this browser or download the inputs, factors and results. Reports with the same activities and factor versions can be compared. Changing the activities included changes the coverage; it does not establish a reduction.
Challenges are a personal list of actions to try. EcoCoach provides AI-assisted guidance through Groq. Neither selecting a challenge nor receiving advice verifies an environmental outcome.

Israel grid electricity uses the Ministry of Environmental Protection’s handbook v9.0 (August 2025), Table 3, published 2024 CO₂e factor. Its displayed component-gas values do not reconcile exactly; the calculator retains the published total and shows this limitation.
DESNZ 2026 conversion factors cover the UK reference activities identified in the calculator. Energy and travel estimates exclude upstream fuel emissions unless stated.
Poore & Nemecek, Science (2018) provides the food research means. Food estimates cover production through retail and exclude home cooking and consumer waste. Product-specific results can vary substantially.
